SPP 5.0XTM

The Solid Propellant Rocket Motor Performance Computer Program SPP 5.0XTM is the export version of the U.S. Standard SPP Code.  Both codes use the standard JANNAF methods for performance predictions of Solid Propellant Rocket Motors.  The analysis consists of two parts: nozzle performance and motor performance.  The SPP 5.0XTM nozzle module analyzes and summarizes the performance loss mechanisms into four categories: Combustion chamber losses, Boundary Layer losses, Chemical Kinetics losses, Particle and Divergence losses.  The motor performance analysis consists of a generalized 3-D grain design module coupled to an internal ballistics module.  Several MACROs have been included to help the user specify standard shapes, such as a Star, WagonWheel, DogBone, Dendrite, Finocyl, Conocyl, etc.  These MACROs include a Domes treatment, which allows a head end or aft end taper or transition.  The grain design module is internally linked with the one-dimensional motor ballistics modules.  The motor stability can be analyzed with the axial-mode Standard Stability Prediction (SSP) code that is internally linked with the 3-D grain design and ballistic modules to define burn rates, motor surface, and port areas required by the SSP.

The SPP 5.0XTM is fast and robust enough to provide performance predictions for extensive parametric studies and sufficiently accurate to provide flow field and performance solutions for detailed studies.  The following is a list of features and capabilities of the SPP 5.0XTM.

Approval from the U.S. Department of State Office of Defense Trade Controls must be obtained before any of SEA's codes can be exported.

This approval process typically takes 90 to 120 days.
